Health Education South West, November 2010

Framework for delivery of RCPCH Curriculum

  • Based on ‘Curriculum for Paediatric Training: Level 1, 2 and 3’, Sept. 2010 available at www.rcpch.ac.uk
  • Weekly topics to form basis for teaching, whilst understanding that it will not be possible to cover all subtopics
  • Trainees should take an active role in teaching
  • Teaching sessions can incorporate other generic topics from curriculum, e.g. communication skills
  • Consider range of teaching methods, e.g. bedside teaching, on-line learning
  • In addition to topics below, it is suggested to have regular APLS/NLS sessions and Evidence-based medicine / Journal club
